if your water is green buy a UV filter providing you get the right size for your pond it will work wonders |

Use a uv change every six months make sure the water flows slowly over the media i use alfragrog
mine is not perfect but then the fish dont like crystal clear either. I have used carbon sponges before my main filter and this improved the clarity greatly but it also improved the herons visability lost 2 good fish so now i leave to nature a happy medium also try and shade the pond to stop the algae build up
I have tropical fish and marine fish and i have found that keeping koi is by far the easiest in my opinion i just leave well alone and dont mess what aint broke. |

my koi pond is over three times filtered so the water is pretty much clear, not much algae as ive got a UV filter, my pond also gets two 20% water changes a week, not because i want to, the *** waterfall wont stop leaking, suppose it wont do any harm though |

dont forget all fish live in murky water, full of all kinds of particles its actually pretty un-natural for the fish to have clear water |

good point danny, ive alwys thought that, predatory fish would probab;y [refer murky water, so prey cant see them,(as most have specialised eyes) so they can see better |
