Rescueing a silver tomoz, 12-14" clean fish but has drop eye in one eye hence I dont want it.

Let us know if anyone can take it. Meanwhile it'll be happy in my big tank, unlike the 4' its in now.

Can I ask why you didn't want it, was it just because it had drop eye??

Afraid so, was getting a RTG then this came along and I would have had it if perfect. Felt very sorry for it being in tiny tank so rehomed it hours later. RTG or grade 2 red here I come (well once I have £400 to blow

What will you do if your rtg or grade 2 red gets drop eye? it is very common in arowanas but it does not affect them.

They say the way to stop most of arowana's from getting drop eye is to put a ping pong ball in the tank.

I think my greenie gona have to go aswell now..

Drop eye I believe is caused by feeding sinking as opposed to floating foods I believe there is no reason why the condition could not be reversed given time. The drop eye is caused by the over development of muscles around the eye caused by the fish looking down instead of at the surface where it has evolved to feed probably to many feeder goldfish!!!!

Yeah the bloke was feeding it on sinking and floating pellets, if always fed from the surface they wont get it.

Paul I may be interested in the green-is he mint? If so i'll give you a bell for a chat about him...
