Without meaning to sound harsh toward teenagers (i am one myself), would it not be a lot easier to use correct English? It is easier for everyone to understand and it makes your point much clearer. I know it starting to get annoying I mean seeing "i hv jst gt sum nu fsh wat r dey" is *** hard to understand and to be honnest looks stupid! I don't mean a abreviations and not using 100% correct spelling and punctuation, it's not an English exam, but I'm sure you can see my point. Now everyone feel free to attack and insult me as some of you cannot have a debate and instead use petty name calling. I'm pretty sure some other users are feeling the same way. |

It's not that I (or probably the majority of users) can't understand it. It's more the fact that it looks stupid and really doesn't make sense to use it. I t doesn't save that much time and the main reason for 'xt tlk' is that theres a word limit for each text, thats not on the forum; why use it then? |
08-05-2007 20:38 by bluboy

Does it honestly take that much longer to use correct English? I really don't think it makes a massive difference.
Also (this may just be me) has anyone else been typing up something on the computer and unintentionally used text talk? That's one of the main reasons I've stopped using it. |

Have to back Rob up on this one. The boy will go far.
Txt chat is fine for chatrooms, personal emails, PMs or for using a mobile.
The general consenus of other forums is to use proper spelling with the odd abbreviation/acronym at the end of the text.
eg LOL - loads of laughs
Having said that, this is a forum and everyone is free to text as they wish, provided it is within forum rules. |
