How long does it take for bristlenose eggs to hatch as my pair of golds have laid today, is there something in the air because my discus look like laying, my sterbai shoal have spawned and my pair of koi angels in their own tank are about to lay, I have bred discus and other fish many times but there just seems to be something in the air

my bristlenoses took about 5-7 days to hatch and then another 3 or 4 days to leave the nest. I had separated them form the community tank by this time though so there were no preditors otherwise they may take a little longer to leave the nest. Dad stayed in the nest way after the babies had gone though

i breed bristlenoses all the time. my large male stays with the eggs for 2 weeks , they normally hatch within 3-4days. the longer he stays in there with them the safer they r so when they do venture out they r a decent size. good luck
