17-05-2007 14:04 by tony	listening to a raido chat show yesterday and it was about OAPs it was said there are 800.0000 OAPs with out central heating or a fridge or a washing machine or some major appliance becace they dont have the funds to buy one or they cant afford to get the broken one fixed. and there are no goverment funds. to help fund them . what is this country coming to. i think it time this goverment done somthing for its own . i wont say what i was going to say i would get band .

But I agree it is criminal, if the government stopped all departments from using management consultants and back tracked on privatisation it would save millions if not billions sadly the majority of the public don't realise this and call for a reduction in the number of civil servants thinking it will make things better it won't it will get worse as the work is out sourced to private companies acting for profit not need.

18-05-2007 13:17 by Alan	Seriously what is the problem with genuine asylum seekers that do have transport provided for them so they are able to set themselves up and become a contributing member of society. Genuine asylum seekers have fled persecution and not just name calling I'm talking threat of death and torture in their home country and will have abandoned everything they own in there home country and will quite literally only own everything they have carried with them. What would you prefer allow them to rot on the street and force them to work in the shadow economy or how about not allowing them to come here and face certain torture in their home land. Don't confuse asylum seekers with illegal immigrants they are a very different thing and don't fall into the daily mail trap either.

You do realise that without immigration the UK would have a falling population and as a result less people that could work. But as people are living longer more old people to support. Immigration is a good thing for the UK, we infact depend on it. Yes, I'm aware some don't work and live off benefits but the vast majority come here wanting to work and make a decent lives for themselves in the UK. I honestly don't see whats wrong, after all we are a multi-cultural society, so why not just accept it?

18-05-2007 19:42 by telboy	i was in a bank today in whetstone,close to where ed + i live,the fella in front was a foriegner, who couldnt speak hardly a word of english,he was in the bank to cash a total of 4 cheques toatling an amount of £12,500 i peeped over his shoulder as the teller was showing him how to fill in the forms etc,anyway to cut along story short this fella has been in the country just 3 months + the money he was banking was what the relevant government dept had given him to get settled + to buy a car...£12,500 thats only £2,500 less than i get in a year for my pay!alan + rob do you live in a dream world?no prob with immigration? the whole *** country is overrun with immigrants be they legal or illegal,theres too many of em here,i dont care what colour their skin is they shouldnt be here unless they can prove they can benefit this once great country,they're sposed to report to the nearest country to theirs for assylum,but do they? no! they know if they come here they can ponce off of the hard working decent folk of this country.the whole world knows this country is a soft touch thats why they come here,you go to france etc without a job + try to get benefits, youll be booted out on ya ass soon as youve finished filling out the forms!these liberal yoghurt knitters do my *** head in wheres the pride gone in this country,the youth run riot cos they know noone will touch em,neighbours live jowell by cheek for years without talking to each other, red ken concentrates on robbing car drivers with money making traffic cameras instead of knicking scum bag villians this place has become the dustbin of the world,its time to say "no more", + lets get rid of the umpteen thousand illegals + all the ponces + scumbags + all you liberal arse wipes can bring it on cause ive had enough of being a 2nd rate citizen in my own country

I'm aware that SOME immigrants come to England purely because of the benefits they can get, and unless the government stops giving so much then the problem will continue. However it's unfair to tarnish the true asylum seekers who have had to flee their own country in fear of persecution as people who come for the money. I know exactly what it's like to feel like a 2nd rare citizen in my own country, both as a teenager and a geordie. I'm a teenager therefore I must cause trouble and have an asbo. When i went to London I had to say I wanted a cup of tea four times before the woman understood what I wanted.

We all have our own prejudices. i am sure when people see foreigners getting housing its easy to assume that they get first preference, but the only way you will know is if you get full statistics on it. If i were the PM my first priority would be to literally stamp out anti-social behaviour and clean up the estates. Now my OWN personal experience in that most of the teenagers causing trouble and making peoples lives hell are WHITE. I like to refer to the term White-Trash, sorry about that, its an old habit of mine. I am white myself. Also they are mostly from white-trash parents who cant be bothered to raise their kids right and so EVERYONE else in the area has to suffer. I say tag the lot of them and steralise the parents

If i had kids definitly have to be private school if i could afford it but my concern with that, is if kids go private school are they going to properly equipped to deal with all the "scum" they going to come across. This is including teenagers from my old school which wasn't private and was by know means a posh school. There really isn't a massive problem, there is in some areas, and of course the Media has jumped on this. I'm aware some teens do cause trouble, but the vast majority don't.

The press describe illegal immigrants as Asylum seekers demonising Asylum seekers, I mean for christ sake they got enough grief in the countries they fled and so what if they don't settle in the first country they get to the fact they want to settle in the UK says someithing about the tolerance of this country although reading some of these comments you have to wonder. As far as illegals go deport them simple they came here illegal and did not claim asylum at the border therefore deport them simple. Unfortunately this goverment doesn't do that due to capitalist lawyers misusing the human rights act making it virtually impossible to deport illegals. As far as jobs go those asylum seekers waiting to be granted asylum are not allowed to work so firstly there not nicking all of our jobs and secondly how do you propose they live if they have no income in one of the most expensive countries to live in in the world? Or do you propose that they apply for asylum by post from the country they wish to flee I'm sure the oppressive regime they wish to escape would be more than happy to let them do that right before carving them up with power tools to set an example to other dissidents. Illegal immigrants cannot get work legally and if you suspect an employer is employing an illegal immigrant may I ask have you reported it? If not why not and if you haven't then what the h e l l do you expect the country to do about it. The Civil Service has been butchered as have all public services we can no longer keep an eye on everything we are dependent on the public reporting suspect behavious i.e. employing illegals. In addition this country is turning into the 51st state of America the governemtnis pandering more and more in favour of the rich and big business what about the little man like you and me and Ed if we were multimillionaires great we would be quids in paying proportionatly less tax than just about every other group of tax payers in the country equally if we had a big business such as Tesco's we could afford to set up tax avoidance schemes unchallenged enabling them to out compete all the small business in the country its disgusting. The country is capitalist poo at the moment new labour are simply new conservative as far as I am concerned and if you think the tories will do any better just have a think and try and remember the tory glory days they did just as much if not more damage than labour have done. Sadly this country has become a country dominated by 3 identical political parties. Call that a democracy Ed and Telboy I don't.
