These are my favourite fish ever, they have such character and I love watching them play. I was wondering if anyone wanted to share their expertise, info, tank setup/size, anything with me just as a bit of fun, it all helps improve the hobbie. |

that oscar is superb ,just the way it should be.i started keeping them about twenty years ago,had a pair or two in my time, they are often described as aggressive, what a laugh they are the big cuddlies of the central american cichlid world. i have five currently, been reducing numbers from 14 babies probably keep two or three in the end,who can really add anything to whats already been written about these super pets,if you give them discus quality water then you see what they should be |

Is it a dyed parrot oscar... |
19-05-2007 18:05 by SomethingFishy
|
There is a trade in dyed oscars now based on the albinos then there dyed in the same way as the jelly bean parrots etc.
Not something i agree with but i bet a lot of people buy them not knowing there history, at the end of the day if you give them a good home then at least there suffering was not in vain |
19-05-2007 20:29 by bolty
|
these are the (as they say) "ALBINO FIRE" not dyed!

if there not dyed then then are gorgeous fish, but if they are then that would put me off ever buying them |
