hi , I am heading to this venue tomorrow , has anyone been and if so what did you think , prices ok ? good selection ?. etc .
we want to make a day of it so are there any other outlets in the area ( ciclids/oddballs) worth a visit on the way or back to grimsby (done the likes of viscum and that area).
cheers. ANT |

Try Wharf. A bit expensive but excellent selection and good fish. I once did Wharf and Mill Garden Centre together and I'm from near Lincoln.
Have a good day! |

like big cats said, id give birleys a visit, its very well set out, has a good selection of all types of fish and has rare ones in sometimes, wharfe at nottingham is also good but i found its alot more for the african cichlid person like myself at the minute does have alot of community fish in but it seems the same old stuff to me |

just got back home .
poly boxes empty , didn't rate mill at all ,very little unusual stock compared to what they say in the adverts , called in to one at mastin moor ,near chesterfield , waste of time , so we visited sherwood forest for a couple of hours then headed to maidenhead aquatics at whisby gdn centre ,lincoln which was ok if you just want run of the mill community fish but nothing spectacular , lincoln aquatics is owned by a guy who lives in our village ,it is probably one of the best stocked shops in the area and is due to expand in the very near future ( rare and specialist fish etc) . birleys is ok for trops but the marine section is a disgrace (or it was on the 3 times we have been).
Having lincoln aquatics and woodthorpe aquatics (alford ,lincs) within a half hour drive i think i'll stick to these and not waste my time with the rubbish i've seen today. |

Tony , to be honest i have not been out there for a few weeks ,the new section for the more specialist and rarer fish will be ready in the summer , as i have been told , so the best thing is to give them a call but i don't think at present there will be too much out of the ordinary .
cheers ............Ant |

Cheers Nige , I've been through bardney and just thought it had closed down , will certainly have a look in the near future , it may just be me but it seems outlets are just stocking run of the mill comunity fish and not giving the scope to expand the hobby , I must mention Frisby Aquatics in Hull , although not owned by Arthur now , it still carries on the legacy of quality and diversity of fish at very reasonable prices .
regards all.....Ant |
