Lighting for Juwel Tanks |

Does anyone know if there is anyway to upgrade the lights on a Juwel Rio 300. At the moment i just have the standard tubes that come with the tank. Ideally i want to keep some kind of lid on the tank as i have children.
I did have a Rio 180 and the lighting was fine, as it was near to the window as well.
The rio 300 is much deeper and is 300 litres which i think is about 80 gallons - i only have 2x 38w tubes. Ive been told ideally i need 1.5 - 2 watts per gallon of water
Cheers

You have a few possibilities:
1) Change your tunes - any 38W tubes will fit. I would go for a white one like powerglo and a warm tube like aquaglo this make for a nice colour in my experience.
3)Add another lighting set - go for 4 tubes instead of 2.
2)Upgrade to T5 Tubes - Arcadia's I bar should work as a replacement
I assume you are keeping plants - if not, it is not critical how much light you have. |
