thats no hystrix its probably a yepezi and from peru, no rays are exported out fo brazil unless smuggled due to brazils blacklist.
any true hystrix would be most likely captive bred from germany if for sale in the UK.
most fish exported from peru which are either undescribed or motoro varients seem to have the name hystrix these days.
£80 for it is a decent price for one that size. |

looks like a normal stingray mate, nothing fancy, how much it cost you? |

this is unlikely to be much help but from your picture it could be a young laticeps or hytrix but i doubt it ,i would have to go with orbigny or humerosa if you do a yahoo images search for each tou may be able to work it out yourself. most retailers just flog them as they were sold to them.

I have concluded its prob a yepezi, some form simular to a motoro and will prob reach 20" disc. Great! Maidenhead have a habbit of selling me the completly wrong species. They done it last nov with a marbelled pim saying it was something different only growing to 2 foot. Not 3 foot and at the rate of 2" per month... |

you can buy 6 inch tigs in the states for $200,so you can expect to see them here soon for less money?? maybe now is not the time to be buying? |

Cool im gona deff look into this one. |

Yeah tigs aint that much wholesale, the price is mainly due to them being sensitive and dropping dead for no reason. May have to leave this one, but then again my collection will be near complete and stunning.
Trinity way, was there the other day but cant think what area it is |
