Hi Webbie
Have you got any plans to update the 'Compare' link that I came across in the Ebay Auction link (then I clicked on the Cichlid link) as it is a great tool but the info is a number of years out of date? - Cheers
P.S. You not so good, not seen many comments off you recently....... |

I'm good thanks. We are fading out the comparison area as it became exremeley time consuming to maintain.
We are adding a new aspect to the website soon though, which should be even better. Our web programmers are almost completed.
It will be a shopping area where retailers can list their own product range, and have a sort of ebay-store on this site, taking advantage of the traffic here.
No profits will go to us, it will be a free service for retailers and purchasers, payment will be by paypal, and we hope retailers will list their hundreds of products for sale on this website. So, there should be a comparison aspect to this service.

caz, yes for now - as it is the only solution that will fit the brief. this means that the contract is between the buyer and seller - we just provide the service, so don't get embroiled in any disputes.
are you a prospective seller caz? |

also another thing you could try doing webbie is a "nearest first" search box so you can find items for sale that are close by. just like ebay |

"are you a prospective seller caz?"
I am a hobbyist seller of our tank bred fish via another fish forum and ebay - would I qualify as a retailer cause I don't think I am 1?
Also as we'd only be able to accept Paypal would we be allowed to charge to cover the fees incurred for each transaction? ebay banned sellers in the UK from doing this but not anywhere else in the world (how fairs that ) - you see I don't see why I or any sellers gotta pay for someone else to sit at home on their fat backside and use their credit card????? |

@ caz, sorry if im wrong! but dont 99.99% of ebay sellers double/triple charge on postage to cover such costs? |

Telboy - not me mate, though I know exactly what you mean.
I personally weigh each item that I can fit on the scales then add £1 on top of the RM's cost for packing (except if I'm posting fish).
I've seen people stupid enough to pay £1 for an item then £25 for P&P they deserve to be ripped off for being dumb but more people are wising up now which is a very good thing.
Nowadays if ebay suss onto the sellers overcharging for P&P they end the auction, its actually been against their rules all along to overcharge for P&P and your also not supposed to add in the listing fees as thats what they call 'circumventing fees/fee avoidance' and |

the electric went off just as I was typing my previous reply, so as I was saying:
and they penalise sellers they catch - this dosen't and won't stop this from happening cause there's sooooooo much of it going on they can't keep up with it. |
