Bought 1 of these today, fascinating to watch. Has anyone else kept them and can you keep more than 1 in a tank? My tank is 7x 2.5 x 2.5 |

ive just read a few articles on various sites + all say ok with reef but not ok with certain shrimp ie banded wouldnt mind getting 1 meself |

JP - reef, checked out before I got it but forgot to ask if you can keep more than 1 in a tank. It hasn't stopped eating since I put it in, must be a male!! |

I have heard stories about what the spike is for also note that it is barbed.
Basically the spike is used for spearing small fish if they get to close the barbs keep the small fish attached enabling the arrow crab to eat the small fish whilst it is still alive keeping it fresh I suppose.
Never heard of this behaviour in an aquarium though but have heard they can become a bit of a pain when they get big. |
