nice rays mate. that one looks like an orbignyi or possibly a pale yepezi. i love rays but after loosing a big motoro for no apparent reason i knocked it on the head. i always wanted to breed them and sometimes consider emptying my tank and just keeping rays. |

Yeah its a yepezi, but maidenhead sold it to me as a Hystrix! Will get a male then breed them, plus now have 3 retics so will be breeding them too once grown on.
Smaller ray species can be kept in a 6x2x2, others min of 6or7x2.5x2.
Found a blue arowana jigga so picking that up soon-stunner. When did you lose your motoro? Its the local tap water mate, I lost a ray, flagtail then a while ago the mbu and peacock bass became sick and died. If keeping any more sensitive fish then use polyfilter in your filters. How's the aro? |

the aro is good getting on well with the jardini unfortunately when i picked him up he jumped and hit his barbels, about 2 days after i got him they went all furry and fell off 2 days later but they seem to be growing back and he has grown about 2" already.the 2 aros do look nice swimming around together. |

Gorgous Ray Jake. Whats the polyfilters you can use in your filters? And Paul, I thought you didnt want to have to start up a new tank just to keep rays? |

Ohhhh great. You could always just take the lobster out of your arrow tank and put the younguns in there until they grow. That would be a stunning tank until they get bigger. |

Ployfilter - look it up on google! Great stuff which is a must with sensitive fish, takes everything nasty out-much more than carbon.
Only just set this tank up. Blue arowana coming in couple of weeks, current stock is 1 29" tyre track eel, 3 retic rays (still got to sex 2), 11 clown loach to 7" (massive), 10" black ghost, flagtail, indo tiger, pair geo red heads etc. Tig coming soon |

And of course the lovely ray above, male being imported soon to give her a good seeing too and then give me some pups... |

as long as you dont start getting your fishing rod out Jake and start trying to "catch it" should all be cool |

We used to use hand lines in a shop I worked in. massive res under tanks which fish escaped into then grew massive. Caught a 18" pang, loads of differnt synos which been down there for years as well as a 12" diamond shark (put that in my tank), big oscars and other cichlids. It was great fun |
