Does anyone know the size of the gap from the top of the skimmer to the top of the intake tube, wondering if it will fit in my hood.i know not many people will no this but alan said he had one so he may be able to help.

I will get back to you on that I will have to measure it tonight but the height of this is variable if you look closely you can see it is in a slot and if you raise this bit you have to raise the reaction chamber resulting in the skimmer cup sitting higher as well.

If you look at the lip about half way down the skimmer in take pipe on the skimmer body that is where it sits against the top of the tank. A small device not shown on the picture holds the skimmer in place it fits over the outlet pipe.

In most cases with all skimmers some modifications have to be made to the hood. To be honest with all the mods I have made to my hood there isn't much left of it which is why I will be building my own hood to accomodate everything in the future and it will also hide everything.

Will get some picks and dimensions for you tonight and will post tommorrow.

It was just a series of different size boxes wasn't that difficult the hard part was getting them to accurately reflect what the skimmer looks like and getting the rough scale right put I did forget to say they are not to scale.
