STM rip of you pay for the name of the shop, they told us we needed to spend £3500 on a skimmer and that we could only use aquamedic black bio balls in the filter,we wont buy anything of them |

Yeh i was about to order a Deltec Mce300 but i had a quick look through and i found a wave skimmer for a 400 litre tank, i did a bit of research and because im on a budget i decided to get that skimmer for £86 inc P&P and its coming tomorow, i was gonna get the Deltec but that was like £140 with P&P so i saved myself like £55 which can go on high grade live rock now. |

Has anybody ordered live rock from stm, if so was it any good because the one thing im weiry about is what surprise im going to get when i open the box, but it seems to be the best place to get it from as i ordered my skimmer yesterday at about 4pm and i recieved it this morning at 11 am so i am pleased with there service so far. |

Scott Stm is the only place I will ever get live rock from its the best stuff going.
As far as the skimmer goes I would have suggested the wave as it is cheaper but I was thinking along the lines of tank space hence suggesting the mce 300 as the pump with this is housed in the skimmer not in the tank. The wave skimmers are very good though. |

Yeh i know what you meant, the pump is pretty big. But if it does the job and i save £55 then im happy, i tried it on my freshwater tank and it was quite funny watching my pike characin trying to eat the bubbles. I'v gotta re-house my fish to my LFS or into my upstairs tank then im going to get Live rock, live sand, Rowaphos and i found a high intensity power glow bulb so im getting that aswell. I'v been really pleased with STM's service and i am definately using them again. |

And the good thing i found about the skimmer is that i can fit it in near my filter so it doesnt really take any tank space up because i wouldnt be putting any rock etc. there so its pretty good. |

Have you ever used copper in the tank?
If you have make sure you give it a good scrub and also the skimmer aswell as you've had it in the tank. |

No ive never used copper in the tank but i plan on giving it a good clean anyway because iv had the tank for about 4 years so there are build ups of algae in places so im going to give it a good scrub before i start marines. |

I was having a think about the lighting and remembered that you can get high powered compact flourescents that are brighter than T5's so this might be the way to go can't help you much on it though I'm afraid as I am not familiar with them they are a bit new but with limited hood space they may well make a good option for you. |

Scott take a look at this it would be over kill on your tank but at the price can't be ignored.
