Marines spending spree |

Ooops, just spent too much, but got some great stuff ...
1 moorish idol - very nice, been after one for ages, feeding on everything he can.
1 sea pen - to go with my other, which is thriving.
1 big yellow tipped malu anenome - couldn't resist it - beautiful.
1 small green carpet anenome, nice colour.
2 coloured sea urchins - hope they will remove some excess algae.
Got them from Watermarque in Taunton, very good prices. The carpet anenome was only £15, the urchins £15 each, the moorish idol £40 ... |

Tip with the idol is to vary its diet as much as possible they tend to wither away in home aquaria for some reason. |

wayne, yes the crinoid did die eventually - after a few months. shame.
The recent aquisitions are doing great, the moorish idol is eating well. |

this is a sea pen, likes eating new spectrum food which i drop into it. new spectrum is the staple for the whole community, plus a mix of frozen foods.

the above shot doesn't show the colours very well, as there is a yellow cream coloured area in the center. great fish, already eating new spectrum marine food. |

Looking very good Tony, WOW how deep is that sand bed and your sea pen looks very sim to a pulsing xenia, very nice too |
18-06-2007 19:53 by yanton
|
definately a sea pen trik, it retracts completely a few times a day sometimes it buries itself deel in the substrate.
next i'm looking for some nice sun coral, yellow or orange.
as for the caulerpa, it just grows and grows like mad. i have to trim it every few weeks, and keep it to one side of the tank.
sand bed varies as the gravel sifting gobies move it around, it ranges from 3 to 6 inches deep. |
