im thinking if building one howver it will be small. when i say small i mean 5ft x 5ft max as this is the only available space for me to do it (behind the shed) as im still youngish and living with parents

it will house about 2 - 3ft x 1ft x 15 inches deep
2 - 2ft x 1ft x 16 inches deep
2/3 - 14 inch x8 x 8
1 - 2ft x 8 x 8 inch tank

Chris is the space avalible within the shed? if this is the case then Polystyrene should do the job easy to cut to size and fix in place,go for the foil coated stuff ( Kingspan i think )

Dont forget you would make life easy for yourself with running water in your fish house and also a Drain.

i was thinking about using just polystyrene sheets. i was also thinking of using a silver foil bubble wrap on top of the polystyrene.

drain very good point will be adding it to my list

thanks

Have a look at this one. although much bigger than yours the insulation techniques can be used.

Polystyrene is cheap and good, But over time it will hold water if left exposed to the moisture in the fish room and loose much of its insulation properties.#

Kingspan is much better but more expensive. And you would need a thinner amount than normal polystyrene, which might be important in a small fish house.

a waterproof membraine over the insulation is worth consideration (condensation seems to occur behind it otherwise)
