aint that why they recommend quarantining new fish ? |

how and where do you quarentine a 2 foot shovelnose ,and when you ask for either a credit note or money back from his boss ...the answer was no....now thats good customer relations and after care for a person who wants to make sure his own company has a good reputation for the past and for the future,i know what my future with this company will be |

that's why i always ask "do you have a quarentee". Both shops i use have a seven day quarentee and tropicalfish4u (who i use) give a five day quarentee on survival. Won't cover your other fish, but then i only buy fish that i can quarentine for a couple of weeks. Sadly, we all live and learn (uaually the hard way) |

well all i can say 1st sorry to hear ya lost ya fish chris,2nd all fish ive had from there have always been problem free, granted the shop is like an aquatic carboot but then again thats why its so cheap... most lfs i know only have a 24hr guarantee |

thanks ,my lfs knows me well, and again ive taken dead fish back in after 5 days, this shovelnose was reported as being ill to the shop with in three days dont get me wrong im not here to blame or argue with kev ,we have traded fish privatly in the past ...its the owner of the shop who has no care or the welfare of the fish he is selling to the public, this fish cost me 60 quid, which in my terms is alot of money,i also lost a 26 inch red tail catfish, thanks for listening |

I think if your spending alot of money on large/new fish you should set up a way to quarantine? Especially if you do have other expensive fish. It's your job to make sure you quaranteen fish. Pet/Fish shops can't sell 100% healthy fish every single time, they can look healthy but not be, it's what happens in the pet trade. Defo think you should have made sure there was a guarantee. However, this should also be a policy for any pet shop (IMO) anyways. |

I must say that the last time we went down there, there were sick, and even dead, fish in almost every tank. Yes is does look like an aquatic boot sale but that is no excuse for bad housekeeping. |

thanks linda, aquatic boot sale does that mean you buy it,they take your money and they scarper....lol |
