ok maybe not
it is a five section sump
first section bioballs and ceramic media
second skimmer
third section miracle mud,caleurpa etc.
fourth ????
fifth return pump
does anyone disagree with this?

Sump setup seems ok to me, But if you are using liverock i would dump the bioballs and ceramics as they just produce nitrates. |

wouldnt caleurpa and the likes absorb nitrates?
arghhhhhhhhhh lol |

yes the caleurpa would store some of the nitrates but whats the point in creating excess nitrates with bio balls ect.
If your using liverock for filtration then they are not needed. |

I thought the point of using miracle mud was that you would not need a skimmer, generally they are not recommended as part of the ecosystem method. |

Thats what the people who make the stuff said, But now they have said running a skimmer is fine
Most people that i know that use MM
now use a skimmer |
