I bought one of the above air pumps a while back - maybe a year ago.
However ever time i come to use it, it doesnt stay out for long because its so noisy. The vibration sounds as if its going to take off.
Are other pumps much quieter - is it really worth the buying a new pump?
I really only need to run 4 Heuy Hung filters from it. I have my current pump on its lowest setting and its giving me a headache. |

I’ve not checked inside but its been like that from new - I initially bought it to use with an air wall, but the sound was not worth the effect.
Ed
Have you used other makes - are they a lot quieter - is the difference enough to buy a new pump?
I’ve done a YouTube video to show you all how noisy is it but its still processing. (And to show my new breeding 1 in 1 tank )

I have put it on bubble wrap and its quieter but still giving me a major head ache.
After reading on the internet alot of people recommend Rena Air Pumps.
Have any of you got one?
Also
The tank its for is a 48" / 18" / 12" but split into 4 - the pump is to run 4x Heuy Hung filters, one for each section.
The Probable volume of the whole tank is about 153 l. Does this mean i just need a pump to do 153l? Or should i get a big one? Would getting a big one just make it noiser?
Rena air 50 for 5 - 30 litres
Rena air 100 for 30 - 90 litres
Rena air 200 for 80 - 160 litres
Rena air 300 for 120 - 300 litres
Rena air 400 for 250 - 600 litres
My main concern is its too noisy - BY FAR: |
