Hi!
I'm trying to get a good plant growth in my Rio 240 without spending my arm and a leg... Done some reading and got myself a mix of Loam and Vermiculate for the bottom layer. Now I need sand... Does anyone know of a good source around London that doesn't sell 4kg packs for 5-6 quid? I need around 25kg and don't really want to spend much more than 10 pounds on it. B&Q and Homebase are no good. |

waste of time using the diy co2 method on that size tank. Better of getting a pressurised system. |

builders merchants sell 25kg bags of silver sand for £3-£4 some of it is inert and some has some buffering capability, pot luck really. |

I've used Argos, Tesco and Homebase sand, never had any problems with buffering up the water with any of them. |
