I have a problem with my juwel 260l tank which i keep discus, neons, rummynose etc, The water has gone very murky and i thought it may be lost biological filteration but it has been like it for some time now so i dont think this is the case, i have done a couple of small water changes but this dosent help, i thought it maybe a build up of phosphate but my tank is well planted but i have put in rowa phos but this has not helped, anyone got any ideas, Other water quality is fine ie nitrite , ammonia, etc

you could pop in some carbon filters to pollish the water so to speak.......

as far as i know its safe with discus Elmo

Rowa Phos is better than carbon, but its not a case of polishing the water as it is very murky, its usualy crystal clear as i use an external as well as an internal, if it was lost biological filter then it should have cleared by now, fish are healthy, two discus wanting to spawn and rummynose still with red noses which is allways a good indicator, cant even see the back of the tank due to water being that murky

I have a large piece of bogwood which has been in there for years but i have stripped the tank out while trying to sort out the problem for now, so i dont think this is the cause, cheers woz, running out of ideas, i keep thinking it is loss of biological filteration but it should have cleared by now, tank is empty of furnishing now while i find the cause

i agree with tracyanne if your floss is overloaded worth a try, you also dont say if you have added any new to your tank i.e gravel or sand if so did you wash it enough
