hi every one
hope some one out there can help me , ive been offered some live rock at a good price its covered in purple coraline but its also covered in some sort of dark green algae and some of it seems to be peeling off the person said its been in there tank for over seven months but not sure if its ok to put in my setup canany one please advise as im new to this.

the ddark green algae is prob there due to high level phosphates. butit should not pose to much of a threat if your levels are stable |

cheers for that youve put my mind at ease, think i,ll buy it, im trying to get as much as possible
to go in my new setup thats being
built for me its 5 foot/24/18 with a 30.15/15 sump, ive got about 25 kilo so far but not sure how much to get as i dont no how many gallon it will old, any way thanks for your reply trickateck.

you can work it out easy in litres first
length X width x height in CM (centimeters) divided by 1000

if ive worked it out right it comes to just under 118 gallon,so how much live rock would i need.

it work out for every 100 liter off water you need 10kgs off live rock 118gallon say roughly 500liter water makes it 50kgs off live rock to have a good filtration |
