Adverts on Classifieds |

I know this might be nothing much to worry about but i personally am getting bored reading the same old adverts on classifeds on the front page.
People are re-listing their advert almost daily to make it go "back to the top". I can understand if after say a week they have had no interest, then re-list but to do it non-stop and obsessively i just dont think its in the spirit of how the classifieds is supposed to work
there is one advert about calico convicts where it just keeps appearing near the top

sorry my point being, does anyone feel the same way, i mean its like Gound-Hod day on there, i know there is individual catergories that you can look through but i also like to see "new adverts" and see what "fresh" stuff is for sale so to speak, just fed up of "same old same old" being advertsied and most of the time people havent even got the sense to change the advert or lower the price to see if they get more interest |

yes i agree it is a pain. i do drop in daily to drop some repeat ads further down the ratings. i'll keep a closer eye. |

fair enough webmaster its not exactly a top priority just a shame some people are so persistent they are obviously deleting there current add and re-pasting it as a new add |

i agree.
i only look on the recenctly added page as i like to see everthing.
Is there not a way that people posts can be restricted to so many a day. |

I'll think about the restrictions.
We are currently working on a county search, so you can quickly see what is available in your county. |

Good shout Alan, agree with that, i reckon i missed some good bargains as i scan down quick and just see the same old people selling the same old stuff so i dont bother to much no more looking |

it will take a bit of work yet, but it should be a great help to users. |

Chris Smyth takes up half a page when he puts his adds on - its really annoying, he's not the only seller to do this but he's the one we notice the most - why can't he and people like him do 1 add for everything?
Webbie can't you make the dealers & hobbyists have a different listing style or separate page or something? - a 'recently added hobbyist ads' page would be my 1st web page of the day every day if you could do it, I mean if I wanted dealers I'd go to a shop.......... |

I'll give that some consideration - problem is where the line is drawn between hobby breeder and retailer.
I am working currently on the county search - which should be a useful resource. You will be able to view ads by county. |

PS: I do trim back quite a few of the multiple listings. They seem to come on board when I am away from the keyboard - but I will try and keep a closer eye. |

Thanks Webbie - at least if you get the county thing going I won't have to search round Northamptonshire |
