Are Corydoras Fin Nippers?
I have some breeding tank with fancy guppies in. I want to put one or 2 corydoras in with them to keep the tank bottom of the tank clean.
Or can anyone suggest another fish to use that doesnt require i big tank - my tanks are 10 gallons.
Cheers

Well the only thing with plecs they do like fry so if your going to breed them watch out because if they get a chance they will eat them. |

I'd go for ottos since their mouths are so small they cannot eat the fry. I have some in my Endler tank and there is loads of fry! I have a twig catfish in my Angel fry tank, none of them have went missing, but apparently they are delicate not that I've noticed that. So if I were I'd avoid them, just incase.
And the cory will be fine too.
Hope that helps. |

Tel, I've never had problems with my plecs eating my plants. The ottos are highly recommended for planted tanks, and in my Endler tank there's lots of plants, all not eaten by them.
My Twig catfish hasn't destroyed any plants in the angel tank, mind there is a lot of algae.
And I also have a Bulldog plec in my community tank, again plants untouched, but there is algae in there too.
I've not got any experience with bristnose plecs, but know many people who keep them in planted tanks.
I guess the best thing is make sure there is plenty of algae for them to eat and the plants won't be touched. |

Bristlenose will only start eating plants if they dont have enough normal food or algae to graze on, and even then its only very broad leaved plants they might munch on |

its actually not a preferred diet for plecos or bristlenose (plants) |
