12-08-2007 09:08 by mwilde	I inherited a metal work bench that i think was home made. Its kind of like metal with holes in and you can bolt it together. A bit like a meccano set. Im wanting to make a stand 4ft wide by 18nches deep and about 6 foot high. The dexion stuff can vary in strength. http://shop.instant-shop.com/stodec/product80226catno1290226.html Above link quotes 80kg per shelf, but thats the flimsy metal shelves. 1.5" plywood would be stronger, even stronger if you bolt the shelves to the metal at various points along its length. You could beef the shelving up a bit by up-sizing the bolts to M8 or M10. The ones in the photo look like coach bolts
