hi there guys,

A little advice very much appreciated. Noticed one of my silver dollers, has got a huge scar thing on its body its like its skin torn apart, and a fungus type growing (pure white) also his tail, the fins kind of torn... i have attached a few pictures to help.

Any advice?? could it have got into a fight? i havnt been to LFS yet.

Looks like it may be a heater burn.

3 clown loaches, around 7"
A common sailfin plec, "talking" catfish and a candy striped pleco

Just wonderng of a plec could have attached itself to the dollars side during the night which could have caused a small injury that has got infected?

this is a common occurence with dollars,as they're jittery fish + are constantly banging into things when spooked! just treat with summat like myaxin, should clear up

telboys got it spot on, when i used to keep them they would have wounds which went over half way through their body, but they always recovered( their pretty tough fish, i only ever lost one of them and that was down to a terrible wound , which would have been painfull on me, nevermind a fish! ouch......just try hard not to spook them...also dont try and take an item out of the tank which they are resting in as they have a tendensy to race out of gaos which they are two large for and get seriously stuck ( i ha to smash a plastic treeroot once to get one out and believe me that was harder than it sounds: D anyway the wound its got is nothing to worry about, ive seen much worse and seen them recover without much effort
