Picture this, Saturday morning, looking forward to going to my eldest daugher's house for a BBQ. My other daughter's 15th birthday. In the car, myself, Nigel, Ben, Becky and her friend, Leanne. In the boot, a tank and stand for my daughter's mother-in-law. Reverse off the drive way, into 1st gear, into 2nd, car feels a bit 'strange' Drive up the road about 500 yds, car starts to feel even worse. I stop the car and as we get out to check if we maybe have a flat tyre, we then hear a cat meaowing! Stupid cat must have got under the car while it was on the drive! Pop the bonnet to let it out but there is no cat in the engine bay. We then look under the car and, low and behold, there it is, stuck in the alloy wheel, drivers side, at the front. Panick!! How on earth are we going to get it out? Can't take the wheel off as we are stopped on an incline. A car stops with some young lads in to see what the problem is, they can't believe what they are seeing. Our only option is to phone the Fire brigade for help. Now, the fire station is only 1/4 mile from where we have stopped but they come with their blues and twos! They talked about having to cut the brake pipes and some cables, but then someone suggested that they take the wheel off so they could see better. They wedged the rear wheels and we had to unload the back of the car to get the jack, wheel brace and looking wheel nut key. They took the wheel off and the cat was cought by one of it's front legs by the brake calipar. Two of them put thick gloves on and one pushed and the other pulled and it came free, not before it bit one of them on the finger, straight through his glove. It was then put into a sack and the RSPCA came to collect it.
How it survived, I don't know, it must have used up 2 or 3 of it's lives.
While this was going on, one of the fire fighters said that I must have been driving fast, I said that I wasn't but he said I must have been because they heard me comming up the road going MEAOWE.......... also my engine would purr like a cat when I drove off!! The jokes and the puns went on the entire time.
I am waiting to hear from the RSPCA how the cat is and also trying to find out who it belongs to.
It could only happen to us!!

PS. If anyone wants to add their own joke or punn, please feel free to but please make a donation to the RSPCA !
