only problem ive found with using silicone to glue slate is that it came loose after a while as silicone dont seems to stick well on slate so be carefull if you want to build something that can fall apart

the anti mould additive in silicon may harm fish, even silicon that has no additive stated on the tube can have traces (i have used it in the past without any problems)because it is processed through the same machines as the stuff with additives the only sure way is to use aquarium silicon, however it is not that good at holding slate together
