Are elastic bands safe to use in your fish tank.

I have some 20mm plumbing outlets drilled into my tanks. I want put a piece of ladies tights over the hole to stop my fry swimming down the pipework.

Can i secure it with a piece of elastic band? If not what can i use please?

Cheers
Matthew

i wouldnt use rubber or elastic bands as they will rot and quickly, use a cable tie made from polypropyline very stron and last forever any diy store will stock them, tights will block quick so take care
