African Clawed Frog in my 48x22x20 |

I could have tapped this on to my existing thread, but i need to raise the issue pretty quick as a friend of mine need to move her ACF on pretty quick, i think its about 3-4" and i could collect it tomorrow
It would go in my 48x22x20, 300 litres, with Reed Fish and Senegal Bichir, those fish are all in the 4" region. Also have x1 Syno thats about 3-4"
So adding an ACF, a fairly "safe" move all round?
What can you tell me about having an ACF?
Also hitting Google with it

right, think my biggest concern is this issue.... any body got any views on it?
Filtration
The issue of filtration is somewhat controversial. The frogs have a sensory system (lateral line) that allows them to sense vibrations in the water, so some experts believe that using filters provides constant stressful stimuli to the frog (compared to a human constantly being exposed to the noise from a jackhammer). However, gentle filtration is used by some owners with success, and this will keep the water a lot cleaner. These frogs live in stagnant water in the wild, but that is not the same as dirty water in an aquarium. If no filtration is used, the water should be nearly fully changed every week, if not more often.

Fry, keep ya tank covered n they will be fine,27c for temps, maybe a lil lower, but thats about average aquarium temp so no difference, maybe whatch the bircher when older as they obviously have a bigger full size than the ACF,
But other than that there should be no worries |

jonie, acf prefer a cooler tank, around 72-74,they come in many forms from 1" adults to 5"-6" adults, the bigger ones can swallow a guppy no probs, my adults would swallow a 6" earthworm in one mouthful no probs, they prefer a well sheltered setup with plants + logs,a sandy bottom as they will swallow gravel |
