Is it ok to keep different corys in the same tank? If different varieties are kept together is there a danger of them inter-breeding? |

in my experience and others i know, they wont start inter breding randomely like guppies and endlers will if kept together. Normally if you had a group of say x6 Albino and x6 Bronze, if there's any breeding, the Albino will breed with the Albino and Bronze with the Bronze |

thats rubbish alex, my albino and bronze interbred, they are the same type of cory only a different colour, whereas all the other are different and wont interbreed. So yes you can keep different types of cory together but albino and bronze will interbreed. di |

Diane that is partly right, Albin and Bronze are the same type of cory. However, other species of cories will interbreed.
The chances of any babies actually surviving to adulthood are slim though so you shouldn't end up with hybrids. |

lol Diane, how can it be rubbish if thats all i have experienced and others i know that have had breeding groups of Cory. It might make it unusual, but not rubbish! We've all got different experiences with our fish after all Diane. |

Please take into account that some species have different requirements in respect of water conditions, temp etc. |
