if you are gonna go for the big red then you have to give it the right tankmates, no pacus they grow too big and are not attractive from above,tiger shovelnose dont keep up so you may have to add a big one later if you are buying a youngster and growing it on then oscars are ok but may get battered overnight,giraffe cats are good but again not attractive in a pond bit of a tricky one really,giant albino gourami ,peaccock bass ,dovii(one)large silver aro, how bigs the pond? |

9x6x3 deep not massive so arowanna `s would be okay also would i benefit from insulating it as its in my garage or will be when it arrives and what size heate r should i use it holds approx 700 odd gallons give or take |

Sumo you're wrong. It will hold about 900 gallons. You will need about 900 watts to heat it and this is best done using a single thermostat rather than 3 separate heater stats. |

i have a 7x5x4deep fully insulated pond and that is running at 85deg and all i got heating it is x2 150 watt halid light its how you insulate it that counts good luck |

How many 900 gallon tanks do you have and are you speaking from experiance? I've got an 8 x 4 x4 foot that's heated by 900 watts so no, I'm not having a laugh. How about you? Still laughing? |
