i assume these must be fresh water angels.
How long do you airate the Ro before use, as im sure you will be aware Ro water is stripped of every thing. It needs at least 12hours of airation/agitation to get air and water gas exchange. |

What filter do you use? I had a similar experience and when I really investigated it, it turned out that the inlet ball valve on the inlet pipe was full of debris (had to take the inlet guard to pieces to find this, as just looking at it it looked clean of obstruction) which caused part of the filter bacteria to die and affected the water quality. |

its a foam filter in the breeding tank just the female with the problem and a fluvel 4 in the mane tank with only 1 angel with the problem |

do you have enough surface agitation?this aids the air in gas out, also have you tested for nitrates nitrites ammonia etc, maybe start doing a few more water changes for a week or 2 |

Do a water change, it's always the best thing to do if theres a problem.
Then do what others have suggested, it's more than likely water quality related so checking over the filter will help. |

Just wondered if it was a build up of gas in the sand, but not if its just in the one tank I suppose |
