malawi dolphin/eye problem |

Hi,I was wondering if anyone knows why one of my male dolphins has grown a film like matter over his eyes?started two weeks ago i noticed a cloading over one eye so i quarrentined him in a seperate tank.two weeks on it has spread to both eyes and he is struggling to see food now. looked in every book i have but cant find an answer!thanks |

most things eye related with malawis tend to ultimately down to water conditions....what are your readings, if it is bad readings, sort it out asap and fingers crossed its eyes should be ok after a couple of weeks. |

i agree with the wozzer,norm poor quality water,but could be bacterial,have you tried any treatments? myaxin's a good all round treatment,but test ya water params 1st |

Thanks guys... water test last week & also today were spot on so i guess it must be a bacterial problem.I religiously do a 50% water change every other week & 70=75% alternate weeks which crossed fingers ive not had any problems with in 8 years. Looks like a trip to local pet shop!!!Once again many thanks. |

id do a 20% water change every week,50%-75% fortnightly, seems too much,just my opinion...what do other folk think??? |

Hi guys just a quick update on dolphin.Chap who works in local shop came & looked at him after work & seemed to think he scraped it.Paid a few quid for some drops he recamended trying & by goolie hes looking better already.thanks all ..take care |
