It's a good point Tina, if you worried and have a few days to think about it, might be worth doing a specific thread on it to get some feedback.
I was going to suggest trying a few companies that make tanks for some feedback, but they might just try and sell you one of theirs, however, ND Aquatics is run by a really nice bloke, do a Google and get his number and just say "excuse me, but do you mind giving me some feedback" Tell him you heard good things about his company on this forum and you got your eye on a tank. I think he will give you an honest answer and it will further boost his company's already good reputation if he's helpful, if anyone will know it will be the peeps who make tanks!!!
But like i said, if you wanna do it the Benny Hill way, buy the tank, fill it up to the top and rough it up a bit, if it doesnt leak or smash, you probably okay! |

if the tank is made in 6mm glass then it is not thick enough the thickness of glass is determined by the depth of the tank not the length, 18 inches is generally regarded as the maximum for 6mm plate glass and 24 inches is 10mm plate glass 6mm will not break when you fill it but it is regarded as not thick enough , better off buying a secondhand juwel or similar(parts can be pricey though)
tropicals dont create as much muck as goldfish but do need slightly better quality of water |
