Hello
Now the cold weather has come, I’m reluctant to post my guppies. I’m looking into buying heat packs.
I have contacted the makers and they have no experience in using them in the small boxes i use. They only use big boxes.
They are going to send me 2 samples to perform my own testing.
My idea is to get some kind of thermometer that is water proof. I will put it in one of the fish bags with water, packaged it up as normal and then in the morning look what temperature it got it.
This is where I need help. I’m looking for a thermometer that is water proof, and that will record the highest and lowest temp that it go to.
Any ideas please.....??

I use the digital ones with a remote probe. Really cheap (about £10ish) and you can monitor the temp from outside the packing cartons. You can also set them for high or low temp alarms.

I use the very small boxes for shipping and place the heatpack in the lid of the box, they always arrive at their destination fine, you could just drop any digital thermometer in there if you want to test, you can pick them up for about £6. |

Can you use a minimum/maximum thermo from a garden centre, some of these can be cheap, and are designed for outdoor use. |

Sorry didn't finish, garden centres also have normal thermo's, both types come in different sizes, with prices to match. |

Just watch the digital ones, they all seem to give out different temp readings, got three different ones and they all give different readings if the same water when in at the same time.... |
