1st pic is great.

Lex, get in touch, I wanna discuss your secrets for the planted tank

I already miss my fish but with all the reptiles I ain't got time for water changes, nor do I have the space.

Biggest I have space for now is a 3ft which my mum wants me to turn it into something nice when the Boa Constrictor grows out of it.. gutted

I liked the last pic of the Bichir or whatever it is too.. what a gormy face LOL!

Woz, its an Indonesian Tiger and it was £18 mate

As for the planted tank, my secret is sticking to plants i know work in hard water with no added co2 (and this is through personal experience rather than research on internet) I also use Seachem Flourish as a fertiliser, keep water surface agitation low (but not too low as the fish might be be deprived of o2 at night).

I also was using x4 40W bulbs for quite a while, including x3 that were brand new. I am now using x3 40W bulbs, but dont anticipate any problems. The tank size is 48" long, 24" high and 18" deep

I think the heavy stocking of fish also helps. The stocking, plus the fertilisers, plus the decent lighting level all helps.

Also, i've always found anyway, the more plants you pack in, the better they actually grow.

Perky
