Trying to remove algae from some stones. Is it true you can use bleach in very dilute amounts or any other ideas? |

take the stones out - bleech them and rinse propery - then put back in.
I clean all my equipment with bleech.
Just make sure its bleech free before you put it back in. |

Bleach is fine! Use at 20% strength.
Just rinse thoroughly, possibly steep in a bucket overnight after rinsing.
Are you placing them back into the aquarium?
If you are having algae problems you need to look at the alternatives for keeping it under control.
Is it marine or freshwater? |

Its fresh water with an 20" MBU so the main problem is a lot of waste production. The rocks haven't been cleaned in a long time. The tank was heavily planted at one time but the puffer is liable to wreck them. Therefore lack of plants creating an excess of nutrients. |
