I have noticed since i have started feeding a more meat based diet to my discus the 2 medium clowns have started fighting!!! it takes the largest clown to swim between them to break it up!
a very loud click-click-click as the both jaw-lock ( both fish turn almost compleatly white on the black bands!!!
anyone have fish with intresting actions ????
i think its just them sorting out their pecking order..... |

Sounds like it could be sorting out the pecking order, just hope those spines don't do any major damage tho, the clicking is from the suborbital spines, and they are NASTY. |

They can also produce a clicking when feeding I use to have one that had a liking for algae wafers and its mouth would click as it broke pieces off to eat. I pressume this clicking action is what is used to get at snails. |

Hi Robert
Can I ask you what meat based feed you are giving your discus? I have been looking for something more meat based to feed to my clown loaches as they are supposed to have meat in their diets, but haven't been able to find anything other than the granular food and variety wafers which I feed to them. They don't get very excited about it. However, seems like your loaches enjoy the food you feed your discus. I'd like mine to enjoy their food more and get the meat they need in their diet. Thanks in advance |
