I noticed this evening when feeding my main tank some very small almost pink tick like opjects hopping around on the top of the tank water.
Does anyone know what they are, and how/if I need to get rid of them. Fish all seem fine and I've not lost anything from this tank in a few years. Will be doing my weekly water change tomorrow but have just tested with my test kit and everything is in order.. Any ideas? |

Sounds like water mites? Actually relatives of spiders, but couldn't tell you how to get rid of them. |

Dont worry, completly harmless. Normal but if you really want rid then maybe salt would be worth a try? |

Probably springtails. Completely harmless. |

thanks for your replies guys... was fairly sure they were harmless but wanted to make sure... We have lots of spiders around here so I guess if curviceps is correct then it's not so far fetched..
Cheers anyway.. wish seem to have eaten most of them now... |
