Possible but not worth the risk I believe black pirahna need to be kept in solitary in anything but a massive public aquarium type tank as they turn quite nasty with age.
Having said that I doubt many people have tried so it may work however once the shoals have been created you would never be able to add more fish to the tank as they would be quickly devoured even if they are of the same species as they would have invaded the territory so to speak.
Whilst piranha are shoaling fish they are not peaceful shoaling fish. |

Ok thanks a lot for that , really appreciated. Boggy how big do the blacks get and what size tank is needed for one? Do you have to keep only one or can you sometimes keep more together? |

Black grow upto 6" in their first year and then very slowly upto 15"+. They do have be kept on their own. |

Black piranhas are solitary animals Jess, but can occasionally be kept in small groups in as alan said a public aquarium or the like
