Hi, ive got a large breeding pair of jags in a 5 fter as well. Ive found the best solution is to keep things as simple as possible as they will move the decor around anyway! My tank simply consists of pea gravel, some large pieces of bogwood and a few large stones that they use to lay their eggs on. Ive also got a few of the artificial plants that are used to decorate reptile tanks, so they stick to the top of the tank and drape down.
Everytime they breed they will dig out a pit so ensure you have enough substrate.
Hope this is of help.
