Hello Everyone.
I have beenusing powered, and frozen baby brine srimp for a while now - however im going to give live BBS a go.
I bought a all in one in tank hatch kit a while back
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NT-LABS-In-Tank-Brine-Shrimp-Hatcher-Kit-Fry-Food_W0QQitemZ320204482462QQihZ011QQcategoryZ20759QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
My question is simple - what do the BBS look like when ready. The frozen stuff just looks like tiny orange dots. Will i see the live stuff swimming around?
Cheers

turn the air supply off after a day or so and you will see them moving then they are ready , drain off all the water and salt and rinse them. just use salt used for marines and buy eggs without shells |

I may be wrong,BUT, arent the ones without shells "decapsulated"? which wont hatch! |

As far as I'm aware Tel, decapsulated eggs give a higher hatch rate. |

To be fair to both of you, both are correct.
There are types which are sold as NON hatching & some which are Hatching. Obviously it's better to check with the vendor which it is they are promoting.
Generally speaking, Hatchable(decapsulated) BS use up less energy to break out of the thin membrane thus they have more nutrious reserves to benefit your fry/fish.

you can get them without shells and they hatch fine, i have used them many times myself and give a good hatch rate, there is also a feed that you can give them, but they must be kept moving around with the use of an air tube |
