Another "what is best foods" thread...
but my angle here is not really specifically related to individual fish and individual requirements.....
What are peeps views on what are generally the best brand of fish foods, in terms of reputation and your own personal use.

I think its hard to say for sure, as obviously our fish dont speak for themselves and if their colours are good and breeding and healthy its not neccessarily down to the food, there are many variables to fish keeping as we all know.
But, i want to start with these two, these are two brands that "lead the way" as far as i know.......
HIKARI
NEW LIFE SPECTRUM
Please give your "malawi" best brands if you want or just for general fish, i have a wide variety of fish at home, so like to keep my options open
ANY TIPS OR LINKS ON HOW TO GET THE BEST DEALS FOR GOOD BRAND FOODS ALSO WELCOME!!!!!
I was thinking dried foods, but frozen also welcome, i dont know if there any difference between brands of frozen? Is there?

I use ZM for my Koi,Malawis and Discus, they have an excellent range of foods and their prices are very keen 500grams of premium Discus granules £11.87,Tetra discus food is £18.99 for 150grams in my local shop.
they are in my opinion as good as any other brand, the ingredients listed are practically identical to tetra etc,and their service is excellant. |

isnt it funny how we build a brand loyalty without even realising ,i dont use branded food normally except a bag of fine red stuff that i have no idea what it is (got it from a lfs)i feed prawns salmon beef heart but only to large catfish as they have more efficient digestive systems, peas ,lettuce ,frozen krill and bloodworm ,so the answer to your question is the best food for your fish is whatever they will eat well and happily and that sustains their ability to thrive p.s. also feed mealworm friut flies and whiteworm |
