advice guys please , i need to store a load of live rock for a few weeks 5/6 . i have a spare tank 5 x 1 1/2 x 2 that i,m going to use i have 2 big twin outlet power heads to turn the water over 2 x 250 watt halid lights and 2 300 watt heaters,i will also put food of some sort in ti keep what ever is on it alive.
QUESTION , will it need to be filterd as well or will it do it its self.

in my limited knowledge of all things salty nigel you wouldnt need a filter if its just the live rock + the attached life forms, heat + water movement + maybe light depending on what life you have ie corals...so whats happening then? even more marine setups due on board? |

A powerhead would do the job ,i had over 300 kilos in my garage and after i skimmed it off just left a powerhead in there and it worked fine. |

hi telboy , yes mate, lins setting up a seahorse tank and i want to set up another 7 footer but she is giving me grief over it so i may have to let it go.
the rock is a case of i have bourght a setup with 100 kg of live rock and a load of corals and fish so i need to store it till i know how much i am going to need. |

i really fancy having a go with seahorses,but ya gotta make sure they eat the frozen eh? either that or have loadsa hatcherys everywhere!i managed to get a nice v2600 skimmer for nowt off kev its made a hell of a change to water! crystal clear now,if ya stuck with any softies needing homes let me know eh? |

will do mate, not sure how much we are going to use yet, but there will be some spare rock as i cant see her useing all of it in a rio 125,we saw kev on saterday ,gave him some work to do |

It should be fine the only thing it is lacking in terms of a full set up would be a protein skimmer.
That is providing of course that it is cured live rock if it is uncured that is a totally different ball game. |

yes its all cured and coverd in corals, i have a spare aqua medic turbofloter 1000sl, and a couple of cleartides |
