My fish is sick, has had swim bladder problems since i got him 2 years ago. now his belly has swollen . alot. and looks bloody. ive tried the saltwater in shallow bowl, bring shrimp and other non floating food. not feeding him for a week. it has gotten worse, he doesnt act like it is bothering him but imsure it does, and i cant stand to look at it anymore. and also hand feeding him every day is a pain, since he cant move enough to get the peas i feed him.. what is the best way to put him down, i am not gonan cut his head off squish him flush him alive or freeze him, i haveheard about asprin in water,, does this work? and how much do i have to add. and how long do i waite??thanks for your help..
There was a thread on this a bit earlier, the best way Ive found is using clove oil. It basically just puts them to sleep. I know its probably to late now, but freezing isnt the best method by any means.
Hopefully there wont be a next time but give it a go if there is.
I'm not sure the freezer will work anyway. I had goldfish in a pond before moving house and putting them in an aquarium and the entire pond froze two winters running with no adverse affects...
