These fish are native to Lake Tanganyika and have been identified by a top judge as probably MEELAS strain which I think is an area of the lake. So they have been bred in artificially hardened water but then raised in soft tap water with no additives and seem perfectly happy, just add hardener to spawn. Parents can be seen mixed in with youngsters and all get along fine, nice family fish. Collection only from Leeds 17 - North Rigton - south of Harrogate towards Leeds/Otley direction. £1 for 1" fish, £1.50 for 2" fish. Minimum sale £5. Parents also available as concentrating on soft water fish (except my frontosas - need another female if anyone wants a swap).
