Marine Setup and quarantine tanks £1000

Description: Juwel Rio 240 display tank and quarantine tanks.

The water is circulated within the display tank by an Eheim pump and 7 power heads operating through 2 Natural Waves. There is a Prism skimmer and a T5 Arcadia luminaire (2 of the 4 tubes have stopped working, I imagine that someone with more electrical know how than me could sort it out, but as everything still seems to be doing fine I have not bothered sorting it out.) I still have the Rio lights heater and filter which I removed from the tank before set-up and are unused. Loads of living rock, a big green carpet anemone, 2 big leather corals, lots of button polyps, xenia and colonial anemones. Fish include a nice yellow tang, a regal tang a very old royal gramma and a neon goby. There are lots of snails and hermits.

The display tank drains through a Tunze self siphoning overflow into a 48”x15”x18” sump, with lots more living rock, a deep sand bed, loads of caulerpa and chaetomorpha, snails and hermits. The water is lifted back up through an Eheim pump and the water is circulated within the sump by another small Eheim. A 48” T 8 tube provides light for the caulerpa, and 2 heaters heat the system.

The quarantine unit consists of 2x30” tanks on a stand, the top one is a copper free invert unit, filtered by a Bio life filter and a Deltec skimmer, it is lit by a T8 Arcadia luminaire.
The lower unit is a copper fish unit lit by a T8 and filtered by a fluidised sand bed and a prism skimmer.
I found that when I quarantined new stock before adding them to my display tank I stopped getting problems.

I also have a fairly old RO unit which I test regularly and is still producing good water. There are also lots of additives etc that will go with the set-up.
