These little fellows are 1" in size to 2" but grow quickly.
these are fasinating creatures to keep although when adults they become teritorial and will only come together to mate.
each adult crayfish should have at least 20gallons of water and a few hiding places to molt and take refuge.
you have to be very careful who if any is to share there tank as they will most definatly attack and kill smaller and slower fish, shrimp and snails.
they can grow to about 8" and can reach this size in a bout 12 months.
these juvenile Red Claw Crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) are the only legal crays you can keep in the uk.
water quality for these guys is the same as other freshwater invertebrate with a ph above 7 to help there shells. would be best to place in an established tank.
tempreture between 20-28 degrees C.
as these are escape artests i would advice to have a hood that is securly fastned shut, as they will go walkies if they escape.
