Top quality beef heart mix 10" x 7" slab which is hand made freshly by myself with finely trimmed fresh beef heart and the finest ingredients you can give your Discus , Cichlids or other Aquarium fish that require a high protein diet.
I started making this myself to feed all my breeding pairs and young discus in my grow out tanks as i was fed up with paying inflated prices in shops for poor quality beef heart that was packaged into small cubes that when i added to my tanks found it to be largely made up of water and questionable quality heart.
I obtained this recipe from an elderly friend who was in the discus hobby for 25 years and I have just adapted it myself with modern available ingredients to enhance your fishes health , growth and keep them in tip top condition for breeding.
My Beef heart mix contains the following -
85% Finely trimmed Beef heart , Garlic & Naturose , Spirulina , Kelp , Plankton , Krill , Shrimp & Fish meal , Earth worm flake with Amino acids(made from Canadian night crawlers which are great for conditioning breeding pairs) , Dried brine shrimp.
Vitamins - (A) , (B1 , B2 , B6 , B12) , (C) , (D3) and Hufa oil.
All you need to do when it arrives is put it into your freezer and it will stay fresh to use up to 6 months easily as this is freshly made each week unlike commercially made beef heart which is probably sat in storage for months before it gets to the customer.
All you do at feeding times is remove from the freezer snap of a piece the required size and add to the tank (when you first start using only feed small amounts so you can judge how much your fish are eating so you don't waste & leave beef heart sitting in the tank).
This is a must for discus keepers who want to get the maximum growth from there fish as beef heart is very high in protein. I use this beef heart to feed all my discus from young fish to get maximum growth to adult pairs to condition them prior to breeding.
I have had very good feedback when I have sold this previously on ebay with discus as well as other tropical fish keepers.
